Info: Wellcome relaunched the Wellcome Photography Prize in 2018 with an open call for entries in four new categories – Social Perspectives, Hidden Worlds, Medicine in Focus and a thematic category for the 2019 prize, Outbreaks. We received more than 6,000 entries.

This year’s shortlist includes powerful images that capture the impact of disease outbreaks, pioneering advances in science and personal stories of people living with illness around the world.
