Looming large over Royal Festival Hall are the 7866 pipes of our magnificent organ, an impressive sight that can fill the air with the sounds of birds and cathedrals, funfairs and thunderstorms. Experience the breathtaking sound with the finest performers from around the world. Our 2019/20 International Organ Series opens in September with a joyous evening of British Light Music performed by Richard Hills, in celebration of the legacy of prominent organist Quentin Maclean. In 2020, choose from series highlights including Gerard Brooks performing a selection of popular organ music, from Charles Ives’ variations on the British National Anthem to Widor’s much-loved Symphony No.5, Carol Williams making her Royal Festival Hall debut with a jazz-infused programme of works music by Hendrix, Giles Swayne and Ethel Smith, and Thomas Trotter with a shimmering programme contrasting works by Mendelssohn and Bach.
