London Summer Pop Up Events
We’ve been doing a series of pop up gorilla marketing events all over London. This was a form of data collection and company marketing with a difference and it has proven to be a great success. The project was a collaboration between our Artshead fieldworkers and a very talented group of dancers for their ‘Meet me far from gravity’ site specific performances that ran across eight boroughs of London (Commissioned by CAP, central arts partnership, in collaboration with Audiences London, and funded by Arts Council England.)
It was our job to lure the general public in and encourage them to provide feedback. The main job was to offer audience members ‘luggage tags’ to fill in and hand back on one of 3 hat stands. … A little odd but it did the trick. The theme was encounters, and journeying through London (hence the luggage tags). At the end of the performance we interviewed audience members to see what they thought of the show, something that’s just as useful for data collection purposes. Here’s what our promoters on the front line had to say about the experience…
“Brilliant location and a good performance from the dancers helped us get the feedback tag collections. Thanks to a collaborative effort the show was at its best so far.” Duke of Yorks Square SW3/ RBKC – Performance Category 3a
“A nice hidden spot for this corner of Tooting market. It was an exciting experience … I interviewed a nice young shop owner and recorded him and handed out a good portion of the days tag findings.” Tooting Market & Wandsworth – Performance Category 1b
“A great choice for the last location as there were a lot of people waiting and milling about. Many were entranced by the dancing and very willing to provide comments and thoughts about the piece.” St Pancras – M&S by the Eurostar check-in area
*Well done guys! And if you’re a general member of the public look out for our team members combing the streets of London this autumn.*
